Kürzer bringe ich’s aber wirklich nicht hin. Obwohl, das Wort ‘grossartig‘ würde schon reichen, nicht perfekt, aber nahe dran. Crack Music eben. Ein Album, das auf radikale Weise alles zusammenbringt, was wir an Hip Hop so lieben. Kein orchestraler Mindfuck wie Kingdom Come, dessen Üppigkeit zwar beeindruckend war, aber so ausschweifend, dass man sich beim Hören eher erschlagen, als denn entzückt fühlt.

Über Jigga’s Flow kann man kaum streiten. Die Lyrics sind wie immer. Die Produktion ist exzellent, die Produzenten sinister und illuster. Die Feature-Parts? Lil Wayne hätte man beiseite lassen können, auch Pharrells Falsett - obwohl die beiden Tracks mit ihm durchaus etwas haben - doch Jay und Nas auf einem Track: Was will man mehr?

Nichts Neues an der Front, ausser gewohnt wunderbarer Hip Hop, aber eben: Nichts Neues…

Ein neues Jay-Z Album… Hoffentlich besser als Kingdom Come. Obwohl, so schlecht war das auch nicht, bloss etwas eintönig und so pompös wie ein Ball zugunsten von Louis XIV.
