In Zeiten, da ich unter der Zeitumstellung stöhne und mit beinahe fiebrigem Kopf hier vor dem Bildschirm sitze, mir ein paar South Park Episoden, ab und zu an einem Stück Pizaa knabbere, da geniesse ich auch solche Low Budget Videos. Der Track ist nichts aussergewöhnliches, aber doch bei weitem über dem Durchschnitt.

Verdammt deeper Track. Purer Hip Hop mit markanten Rock-Einflüssen. Klingt verrrucht gut:

Gucci Mane mit einem Low Budget Underground Video. Okay, man kann es nicht einmal Music Video nennen, es sind einfach ein paar zusammen geschnittene Bildsequenzen. Doch der Track, der dröhnt kräftig und dumpf aus den Boxen:

Am 25. März starb Cavlar. Heute habe ich das erste Mal einen halben Song von ihm gehört. Ein wahrlich tragischer Verlust, nicht nur für Cavlars Angehörigen, sondern auch für den Hip Hop:

Da Latino-Projekt des Wu-Tang Clans veröffentlicht am 29. April eine Compilation mit dem Titel “Wu Latino Presenta La Familia”. Zu Hören sind Fly and Polzino, Mangani, UKrime, Boyz del Barrio, Nueva Era und Rameses.

Rayroq Acosta, der Besitzer des Labels meint zu der Compilation:

Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond wurde von der Los Angeles Times beschuldigt, in den Mord an Tupac Shakur involviert zu sein. Später entschuldigte sich die L.A. Times für die Vorwürfe.

Henchemens Anwalt, Jeffery Lichtman, zur Entschuldigung:

“While we are gratified that the L.A. Times has acknowledged basing their article on fabricated FBI reports, their apology does not go far enough. Too often public figures are libeled and thought to be unwilling to defend themselves from the lies of bullying, publicity-hungry journalists.
[...]The fact is that Chuck Phillips placed Mr. Rosemond and his family in a potentially dangerous situation due to his actions which amounted to more than mere neglect: his actions were done with reckless disregard for the truth and for that the L.A. Times will be held responsible”¹

Auch Tupacs Mutter, Afeni Shakur, äusserte sich:

“We will continue to work to save the lives of our young people and to offer peaceful alternatives to violence and conflict resolution. That is what we have done since the murder of my son, and that is exactly what we will consciously continue to do.”²
